Meeting Location: Hoboken PATH station
Our teen interns and their mentors will head into the city for some sightseeing and ice cream at Ben & Jerry’s!! Public transportation and ice cream will be provided by TRUE Mentors. Reserve your spot online. 2nd-10th grade mentees must attend with their mentor.
During the school year, TRUE Mentors offers free weekly enrichment program on Tuesday evenings at Jubilee Center (601Jackson Street) from 6 – 8 p.m. Our Clubs change monthly, with every month featuring a different theme. Clubs are offered on a variety of different enrichment topics including art, science, cooking, and more! Between clubs we take free field trips to for youth to explore local businesses, different career options, and community resources.
The classes are open to all children in 2nd-8th grade, and they create an opportunity for children to interact with other children and the volunteers.
An example class structure is below:
6:00 – 6:30pm Welcome & Small Group Activity
6:30 – 7:45pm Snack & Question of the Day
7:45 – 8:00pm Club Activity
Part public speaking, part individual exploration, students will identify their 10 most impactful memories and work with their mentors to discover their ‘theme’ in life.
