Check Out What’s Happening this Fall at Clubs!
TRUE Mentors Enrichment Club program kicks off this year by remembering those who lost their lives on 9/11. Students will make flag pins and participate in small group discussions with their mentors about 9/11 before walking over the the Hoboken 9/11 memorial. As a group, we will observe 56 seconds of silence in honor of the 56 Hoboken residents who lost their lives 18 years ago. We will end our field trip with a stop at Ben & Jerry’s for a sweet treat to celebrate the start of a new school year.
The month of September our students will participate in back-to-school safety Clubs. The Hoboken Police, Fire and E.M.S. are hosting various Clubs designed to keep our students safe as they head back to school. Students will also get to ask questions and explore career options. In October, we are teaming up with Shoprite to host a Pizza Cooking Club and will once again head over to Ben & Jerry’s during our Halloween costume walk down Washington. In partnership with HOPES, we are launching our first 6-week leadership program, open to all 5th-8th grade students and providing monthly community service events open to all families and students.
Make sure to save the date for our first annual Thanksgiving Potluck dinner on November 13th for our families and volunteers. You do not want to miss this event! New students and volunteers are invited to sign up online and check out our program.
In an effort to improve our communication with families and volunteers, this year we are launching an online registration program and SMS text-alert system to help families and volunteers stay up-to-date on TM events and our weekly Club program.
Families can sign up for our SMS system by texting @TMfamilies to 81010. Volunteers can sign up by texting @TMClubs to 81010
