Why Donate?
“People who give money to charity are 43% more likely than non-givers to say they are “very happy” about their lives. Volunteers are 42% more likely to be very happy than non-volunteers.”

“I see the impact my dollars make on a weekly basis. I take satisfaction in knowing my dollars are providing work experience for our teen interns, fresh fruit for our weekly enrichment club students and opportunities to bring our mentors and mentees together to celebrate their TRUE relationship.”
Katie Eades, monthly donor
“The happiness difference between givers and non-givers is not due to differences in personal characteristics, income or religion. Imagine two people identical in terms of income, faith, age, education, politics, gender and family circumstances, but one is a donor and volunteers and the other doesn’t. The giver will be, on average, 11 percentage points more likely to be very happy than the non-giver.”

Your donation today is greatly appreciated as every dollar goes toward supporting and unearthing the potential of children.
You will help children in our program:
- Get matched with a mentor
- Explore new ideas at our classes
- Build stronger relationships with their mentors and others
- Explore the workforce through TRUE Mentors’ Teen Internship Program
Donations also allow our volunteers to spend time focusing on TRUE Mentors’ current youth development programs and other mentoring partnerships.
Gifts of Stock:
Do you own stocks, bonds, or mutual funds that you’d like to convert, but you don’t want to pay capital gains tax on the appreciation? You can donate online, through Stock Donator or by mail.
Giving non-cash property enables you to help TRUE Mentors while conserving your cash for other uses. Plus, you may gain greater tax savings than you would if you made an equivalent donation of cash.
Your accountant or broker can advise you on the tax consequences of making a gift of stock, bonds or mutual funds to TRUE Mentors. If you choose to donate non-cash property, you may use the Stock Donator button on this mail. If you have any questions, please contact tmdirectors@truementors.org.
Bequests:
As you plan for the future of your family, please consider providing for the future of TRUE Mentors’ work as well. Including TRUE Mentors in your will lets you support your commitment to unearthing the excellence of children in your community well beyond your lifetime. It’s easy to leave a bequest of any specific dollar amount, or a percentage of your estate, by including the proper language in your will. Here’s some sample language you can adapt in consultation with your attorney:
“I give and bequeath ____ percent (or a specific amount) of my residuary estate to TRUE Mentors, a New Jersey 501c(3) non-profit corporation, tax-ID 27-3316077 to be used by it for its general purposes.”
If you have questions about how to leave TRUE Mentors a bequest, please have your attorney or accountant contact us.
