TRUE Mentors exists thanks to volunteers like YOU who support our programs! TRUE Mentors vision is to help children in Hoboken develop TRUE relationships with adults in their community. There are many ways to get involved in TRUE Mentors!
In addition to our one-to-one mentoring program (1:1 Mentor), you can also volunteer in our group mentoring program (Clubs) and our Teen Internship Program (TIP). We also offer many programs throughout the year, including special fundraising events, weekly activities, and summer field trips for students as well.

Enrichment Clubs (Clubs)
Tuesdays @ 6:00 – 8:00pm – during the school year
Enrichment Club is our weekly mentoring program. Each week is an opportunity to explore group relationships, while being exposed to new topics and ideas. So often in life, we are part of teams or groups of people and we must navigate multiple viewpoints and be open to new ideas. This program serves students grades 2-8. The program is free for all students. Students and volunteers meet at The Jubilee Center in Hoboken (601 Jackson Street) during the school year.
Teen Internship Program (TIP)
Thursdays @ 3:00 – 4:00pm
It offers teens the opportunity to explore workplace relationships, while developing college & career readiness skills and getting hands-on opportunities in the workplace. We don’t get to choose who our co-workers are, so this experience with a trusted mentor can be invaluable. This program serves students in grades 9-12. The program is free for all students. Students and volunteers meet at Hoboken High School in Hoboken (800 Clinton Street) during the school year.
1:1 Mentoring
This is our one-to-one matching program that creates the opportunity for meaningful one on one relationships to form, while giving children a role model to help them reach their goals. We all have one on one relationships and understand how they can be a powerful influence for the direction our life takes. Mentors meet personally with their mentees and regular check-ins are conducted with progress monitored by our volunteer staff.
Business Development
Our business development team includes people interested in helping with fundraising and donations, event planning, marketing, design, and technology initiatives, and helps run and support most of our programs. We’re always in need of more dedicated people who are willing to commit and offer their business, personal, and technical skills at least a few hours a month (Stevens students welcome!). Ask about other ways you can help as well if you don’t see a specific program listed.
There are many other ways in which you can help support TRUE Mentors as well…the possibilities are virtually unlimited! Some of our most popular ways to volunteer are below.
